light gauge steel
Ray Grage & Associates has been in the building design field for more than 30 years. We engineered our first steel frame house in 1967. With our experience, we are able to design quality with economy of materials and details in full compliance with the latest building codes.
Ray Grage & Associates offers structural design and drafting services at architects, contractors, developers, designers and owner builders.

Working from your architectural design documents we will provide the structural engineering calculations, drawings and the details. This will include value engineering resulting from our extensive experience with Light Gauge Cold Formed Steel (LGCFS).

We are presently licensed in California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. Other states will be added in the near future. Call for information.  Having provided over 35 years of professional engineering services, in 1996 we began devoting our offices exclusively to LGCFS design.

Our office is equipped with the latest computer technology for both engineering calculations and the production of working drawings.

We have used Light Gauge Steel Framing Systems in everything from very large and luxurious custom homes to multistory, multiunit residential complexes and tract housing in both the move up and beginner homes. Light Gauge Steel Framing Systems can be used where cost is the prime consideration as well as where quality is paramount.

The cost of construction, including material and labor, using light gauge steel, is very close to that of wood framing. Because steel is dimensionally stable, fire resistant and impervious to termites, it's quality is much better. The price of steel is not volatile as we have experienced with lumber costs. There is little doubt that the economy of the steel system is better than wood framing. This can only improve as more competition develops.

Our references list includes architects, engineers, developers, framing contractors, building officials, product manufactures and custom home builders.

When you contact us, we will be happy to give you a list of the projects under construction in your area as well as the names numbers of the owners, architects and framing contractors.
